BRAND IDENTITY

Nuits Sonores is one of the French electronic music scene's most eagerly awaited events, features not only the biggest names in international electronic music but also local artists.

Challenge

Finding a way to capture the raw emotions and sensations that wash over me during these unforgettable moments. I knew the design had to strike a delicate balance, supporting the incredible artists while standing out on its own. My main goal was to visually express the very essence of the music that resonates so deeply with all of us.

Solution

To start, I delved into the very structure of music itself - the intricate layers of vocals, bass, kick, snares, chords, and many more that blend to create an unforgettable music experience. That's when it hit me - I could draw inspiration from this symphony of elements to create a unique typography system based on rhythm and layers. That lead to a visual identity that not only highlight each artist but also embraces their world in a way that's both dynamic and unexpected.

This flexible system effortlessly adapts to any theme, style, or genre, much like the artists themselves. To lay the foundation, I chose the GT America typeface and cleverly fashioned an alphabet rooted in the grids artists use to craft their musical wonders.
