UTOPIA: RUNNING

WORLDS

CHAPTER: LOST AGAIN

Utopia:

A week with Sebastien Zanella in Tenerife, Spain

my camera is

a machine

to ask questions

- Seb. Zanella

0:00/1:34

How often can you spend a week with someone that inspired you to start a passion?

layers upon layers
of dreams and desilussions

CHAPTER: LOST AGAIN

All the present photos were given to me during this Utopia workshop.
The following are notes, insights and perspective I’ve learned from him during that week.

“i don’t take

photo’s, They’re given to me”

- Seb. Zanella

Losing yourself in the environment that surrounds you is the best and hardest thing to accomplish.

CHAPTER: LOST AGAIN

In a world of sameness, cultivating your difference will make all the difference.

“pictures are like words, next to each other, they tell

a different story”

One detail pushed to its extreme can set your eye apart from the normality of reality.

Another meaningful insight was:its not about the outcome, the painting, the design, the photo, the poem. Its about understanding how they see the world.

“always be an amateur, always be a kid, be proud of being an amateur”

CHAPTER: LOST AGAIN

Raw, mystical, and full of space for the mind to wander, Ireland is free from distractions and the intensity of cities,

Sebastien call himself The King of The Blind People because he reference some of the most iconic artist who lived unknown to the large public.

Sometimes, the most ordinary moment can give the most extraordinary memory.

“don’t be attracted by the obvious”

- Seb. Zanella

Searching beauty in the ordinary is a journey with no end.

Thank you:

Sebastien Zanella:

for opening your home, mind and heart to us for a week.

For sharing with such vulnerability and conviction your world view. It was a privilege to learn from you while you’re trying to make sense of the world we’re living in.
